Meet our staff.
Wranglers and Trail Guides
We pride ourselves on having knowledgeable, fun and experienced guides to ensure a memorable and safe horseback experience. Each horseback ride starts with an informational safety and demonstration talk to help riders feel comfortable while out on their ride.
Kable Kongsrud was born and raised in Jasper, AB. His love for the backcountry and horses has led him to fulfill his dream of being an outfitter in the Tonquin Valley.
Kable started his first outfitting job when he was 12 years old. Through his teenage years, Kable worked for various outfits, learned from a variety of outfitters and saw endless wilderness territory both throughout Jasper National Park as well as the Yukon.
Kable has owned and operated the lodge and pack trips since 1992.
The outdoors and their horses are Sara’s passions. She has worked as a guide and a cook here since 2001.
During the school year, Sara spends her time teaching elementary school.
Her first summer working with us was 2008. Mattie has been born and raised in Jasper, Alberta. This June, Mattie completed her high school diploma in Jasper and is set to start her next adventure at the U of S in Animal Sciences this coming fall.
She is a rock in our operation and we are lucky to have Mattie as a long time employee and as a part of our Tonquin Valley crew!
Alana’s family has outfitted for generations and outfitting is in her blood. She was raised on a farm outside of Valemount, BC. This spring she completed her Bachelor of Science degree from UNBC.
We are pleased to have Alana as an intricate part of our Tonquin Valley family!
